Thanks for the update Sifu. Is there any plans for the month of september or october? I would like to start attending the class online as it has been a couple years since the last class i had. I have still been practicing Wing Chun however, so i would be interested to see what feedback i could get on my forms!
Thanks Sifu!

Welcome! You definitely picked an excellent place to join. The system is laid out nicely and there are several other resources at your disposal!
I recommend you join a live class when you’re able and certainly watch the catch up if you’re not able to attend. Just stick with it!💯 -

I can not emphasize enough how important it is to re-watch the videos you already “know”.
For example; introductory to wing chun part 1 and part 2. It has so much valuable information in it 💯
If you’re a new student or a seasoned practioner, it is so important to go back and watch it again.
Many times I’ve found myself looking for the next big…[Read more] -

Wow!! I don’t know how I missed that blog in the past. But that was such great information. Thank you so much Si-Fu! It really cleared up a ton of things for me. It’s funny I had no questions for the last 2 years. I was just training and learning by doing. But now I’m at the stage where I’m looking for understanding of what I’m doing. And this is…[Read more]

Lee, I just looked at Module 7.8 as you referenced and you are correct. Si-Fu says on the bong Sau our wrist should be in center when practicing on the wooden dummy. Which is why we use the blade edge and not the forearm. Thank you my friend! Your always very helpful and usually the first to answer my questions haha. Hope you are well with your…[Read more]

So I know I haven’t been to class in like 3 weeks. I know I suck haha. But quick question about the wooden dummy. In application whenever we use the Bong Sau our contact point is usually between gates one and two (between the wrist and elbow. Typically the forearm.) However, whenever we perform Bong Sau on the dummy we use the blade edge of the…[Read more]

I had not read his blog but, I did read it today. Very nice Nick!
And you are absolutely welcome to use the post any way you see fit.
I think Nick’s blog was spot on in many aspects. I agree that there are skeptical people out there that feel learning online is not possible.
That is clearly not an accurate assessment.
It does take…[Read more] -

As I’m going through my wooden dummy form, numerous times over and over again, I can’t help but think how similar the concept of the wooden dummy is with wingchun.online.
It’s always available whenever you want. It doesn’t get bored of doing the same thing repeatedly. It never needs a break. It never wants a turn to try the techniques on you.…[Read more] -

So much I need to work on! Lol But thank you so much Si-Fu. I was watching my video and I just don’t have that crisp look to the form. I am still new to it. But I’m sure all of these details will make a heck of a difference once I apply them. And Yes! I was literally going to ask if we can go over some of this when I’m in class on Thursday or a…[Read more]

Hey everyone it’s been a while since I posted on the form. I have some catching up to do with all the questions from my family Kung fu family. Anyways here’s what I’ve been working on for the last few months. Si-Fu your feedback and critiques is much needed and appreciated!

If I may inquire further into elbows; in chum kiu, would the first “passive” lan sau actually be a pie jarn because it is in transit?
I only ask to see if I should focus more on my elbow coming around vs presenting my elbow forward.
Clearly I’m focusing on elbows lol. -

Awesome! Thank you for the visual answer💯
It’s kinda funny how such a simple question transcends the basic understanding but still remains a basic principle.
Taking a pie jarn to chair pie could be broken down to poon sau. Seems like such an advanced technique yet, we’ve worked on it so much.
This is about the time I decide to go back to the…[Read more] -

Greetings! I’m hoping to get some clarity on something.
If I recall correctly, there’s actually two main differences between the Kup Jarn and Gwoi Jarn.
1) Back stance vs forward stance
2) Vertical vs 45°
If I am understanding the two main differences correctly, is there one that more defines which elbow is which?
For example; if I were to…[Read more]

Duanne Silver replied to the topic Different bongs in the forum Members Forum 3 years, 4 months ago
I was WAY off about what I thought this thread is about…
But anyway I’d like to offer my thoughts on this.
Already in turning stance and bong can come from a high garn sau to the inside with the bong covering their follow-up.
Turning into a bong is probably the most common use of our bong.
Stepping into the bong to simulate movement (as…[Read more]

I’d just like to point out that when we do our set of 50 chain punches that when we count the back hand 25 times, you need to also add 1 punch.
In other words, you will always end up with the same hand in mun sau that you started with in the mun sau position.
Your front hand will still be your front hand.
We don’t want to short ourselves by…[Read more] - Load More
