Hi Sifu
https://wingchun.online/modules/module-18/lessons/18-1/
This page throws up a 404 or at least it does for me.
Anyone else have the same problem?
Cheers

Hi Sifu
The video in lesson 2.1, Pak Sau – Part 4, Advanced Detail. You have just said at the 7:00 minute mark. “You are just trying to get your hands to his arm”
With that in mind. Is this always the case or this is what we should always be trying to do regardless of the technique?
I have seen videos on YouTube where they say something like…[Read more]

Thanks Sifu
I’ve got you. Will work on it. Have my class tonight so I will be trying to roll as much as possible. Working on the tan at the moment as the defence against punches straight and hooks.
All round I need to up my skills, so the bit after the tan and punch is where I will focus and the footwork.
Cheers

Hi Sifu
I’m not really sure of my questions but I’m going to try and ask anyway.
So I’m wondering about rolling and the continuation after a strike or defence of a strike.
Where do the hands return to?
How do you decide when to start rolling again rather than going for another hit?
Do you only play in half and half (bong and fook) when more…[Read more] -

Hi Sifu
Another question for you on the same ish topic. Also reading the above reminded me of the Lan Sau you advised.
This time section 8 of the dummy the bongs. First bong- step in with right bong, then double lap, then kick.
Why do we not lap as in lap sau exercise? Meaning the lap is the wusau hand rather than the bong hand. The lap is…[Read more]

Thanks Sifu
Thinking of a Lan Sau between really helped to see it as a different unconnected section. As did the videos in 9.7.
Lots to think about.
Appreciate it. -

which can be found in lesson 10.8
Hi Sifu
there are places within the whole form that you have said the moves are put together to make it flow.Is this one of those locations?
I feel the part 2 which starts after the last bong of part 1 is such a location.
is the bong in fact in the form a wrong bong? because the next move is the step and tan…[Read more]

thanks for the response Sifu.
i will need to think about what you have said. I’m not sure i asked the question correctly. but you have given me some ideas. i’m definitely asking about Chi Sau and rules that can be introduced to get the game flowing. Dan Chi Sau with Lap Sau exercise combined has a couple of little rules regarding the guard…[Read more]

Hi Sifu
A response you provided to a previous question I asked on the dummy was regarding the arm position when coming in from po pai (double palm strike) On the outside we are defending, on the inside we are attacking.
Is this the case with Chi Sau?
I don’t mean in a real rigid fashion. More about mindset and continuing the game for longer p…[Read more]

Hi Sifu
I’m not entirely sure of my question but I recall something you have said in a video or video blog or blog
It could just be the explanation of the title and the difference between them.
You may have said said one moves the attack out the way the other moves you out the way of the attack.
Does that sound like something you have s…[Read more]

Hi Sifu
There is a good explanation in 8.8 wooden dummy – chi sau applications section 1 part 2.
Trapping the foot.
You also mentioned in one of the videos having a true shape. I think that is what I mean when I feel distance is being created because the palm and shoulder of the tan arm aren’t collapsed (close together) to allow a low palm s…[Read more] -

Hi Sifu
another dummy question for you.
in the advanced explanation you say not to do the low palm strike after the tan. And the way to check your distance is to pak and palm strike to the face with the tan hand.
My question is why do we not do the low palm strike? is it because of distance? so if we were to make the strike we actually have…[Read more]
