How very kind of you to say so (NOW TELL YOUR FRIENDS!) HA HA!
But thank yourself, for putting in the work in order to reap the benefits.
It’s wonderful to have such people as yourself as part of our family and I hope we get to roll one day soon.
Just let me know if you need anything, that’s what we’re here for. 🙂

Adam, that’s a great amount.
One of the most important things is that you train to a level you can stay with with, too much too soon always fails.
‘The candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long’
The fact you’re going over old lessons is crucial, so well done. The blog I’ll post today is on this very matter, I wrote it yesterday but…[Read more]

Hi Adam,
That’s great news regarding your progress, ANY partner training will be good for you, and as for assessments, if your son can deliver basic punches and be somewhere near to assisting you in chi sau or drills then this should be fine, remember it’s you being graded not your son.

Hi David,
Valid questions indeed, so here goes.
First of all, in question 1. the Fook sau is the same as the Tan sau, only the hand shape has changed.
Next, as for the Bong…
With regards to jamming a Pak, all I meant by this was that the feeling of energy in the forearm (on impact with the punch) would feel similar to that of jamming a…[Read more] -

Hi Joseph,
Richard is correct but do remember that the hoop, is only tiny, do not be thinking of the chi sau rings (pointless in my opinion).
I always try to explain that the wrist is working like a ball joint, allowing the forearm AND the wrist, to move around this point, as it is only the wrist that we are talking as a reference point, NOT the…[Read more]

A Thought On Breathing -
Sifu Colin Ward replied to the topic Siu Lim Tao in the forum Members Forum 7 years, 9 months ago
For now just keep relaxed.
There is actually a method of breathing but I fond that to thin of it takes away from the ‘Little Idea’ principle.
Keep you mouth slightly open;
In through the nose, out through the mouth
As you breath in, SLIGHTLY lift the tip of the tongue to touch the roof of the mouth, and as you breath out ALLOW the tongue to…[Read more] -

Hi David,
Sorry, we’re trying to reorganise the videos so they flow easier but we’re mislaying a few along the way until we get the order sorted.
Thanks for the heads up!
Is this the one…

Hi Ned and welcome.
As an introduction to WC I will say that there are 3 main strikes (punch, palm, biu)
But if you are specifically referring to the 3 types of ‘punches’, these would be;
Chain punches (50 in 5 seconds let’s say)
Single punches (one punch in 1/10th of a second)
Wall bag punches (teaching you to know when to stop i.e. not pushing…[Read more] -

HA! Nice one Joseph…
Just to double check.
To get the position right (which it sounds as though you have), run a few turning punches and then stop in one of the stances, your hips will be facing 45 degrees.
Open your arms to a 90 degree spread.
If you look down the punching arm – Cheun Mar, and if you look down the other arm (toward your…[Read more] - Load More
