Hi Marquis,
I was trying to find your original message where you mention not being able to find section 7, well I typed ‘Dummy 7’ into the search and it took me straight to it, but it was actually in 11.1 for some reason?
When I get a chance I will move this but first need to run some things passed our tech guy.
Hope you get this and thank you…[Read more]

An interesting video, and I love the ‘Gameboy’ graphics.
I haven’t watched it all but I think I see your question, unfortunately, I could NOT see, his legs, so I cannot fully comment on what’s going on there.
It appears that he is referring to the power coming from the hips, rather than suggesting that the feet do not move at all.
The student…[Read more]

Hi Lee,
Just noticed your post, I’m about to give a lesson now, so I will look at the video later but was itching to mention something regarding the stepping in comment.
‘I recall you mentioned that his back foot shouldn’t slide on the Kwun.’This is only if you are tall enough to be able not to, meaning, do not step or shuffle unnecessarily, w…[Read more]

Only practice my friend.
But if you have light knives, this will help to develop the technique before applying power, if the knives are heavy and you apply power, there is a strong chance of this effecting your technique.

It actually made me a little emotional and has 100% made my day.
Thank you for sharing this, and if I might add, sharing it so eloquently.

Sorry Howard,
Michael was quite right, I was still in Hong Kong and unfortunately there was no way I could even upload a pre-record.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow again though, hope you can make it.
Thank you for your understanding. X

Hey John!
Thank you for the kind words and so glad you liked it.
It’s really helpful for me to have the chance to see what people are doing and to give guidance where possible, although I am sure many are worried that they will make mistakes…
OF COURSE YOU WILL!
That’s the beauty, if you don’t make mistakes, I cannot teach you. :-)…[Read more]

Yes, the correct answer here for question 6 should be:
‘To know when to stop if needed’
Learning to not overcommit is essential, although Nick, I do like your adding on of the energy too, which of course is equally correct, as these two go hand-in-hand.
Thank you for asking Howard, that’s exactly what we’re here for. 🙂
Right…
