I come from a Karate and Kendo background of 40 years where applications were set in stone.
As Sifu is always telling us applications must be open to interpretation and the more and deeper I study this amazing system the more layers seem to unfold.

Hi Charles,
I have been in the programme for about five years now.

I am very lucky as I attend Sifu’s class in person every week in Leeds.
I learn a lot of my Wing Chun from this online platform and I find it helps to watch the videos two or three times.
I always seem to find new things every time I watch.

If you can ever make the trip to Hong Kong with Sifu that is a must.
I went a couple of years ago and it was a fantastic experience.

Ben,
You need to stop wasting my Sifu’s time asking questions which go beyond your understanding. My PhD training was easier to understand than your posts.
I have trained in martial arts for over 50 years and I train with Sifu in person each week and yes he is the real deal and his knowledge is second to none.
The fact you seem to question everything he does, tells me and everyone reading this all we need to know!!

Sifu is a gentleman and would never write a post like this but his dedicated students who listen, take notes and ask relevant questions in and out of class would.
Some have trained under him for 30 years!!!

Now I’m having to waste time replying to this post!!!

If you go to 18.8 in the course progression, Sifu goes through all eight sections.

Hi Michael,
I’m so sorry to read your story.

I have practiced Karate and Kendo for the last 30 years and it was full of people with huge egos.
Once I started training in Wing Chun at Sifu’s school in Leeds UK, no one as an ego. Everyone is respectful and that is beginners to all instructors.

That was the biggest thing that hit me, I was actually training with nice people.
