I can not emphasize enough how important it is to re-watch the videos you already “know”.
For example; introductory to wing chun part 1 and part 2. It has so much valuable information in it 💯
If you’re a new student or a seasoned practioner, it is so important to go back and watch it again.
Many times I’ve found myself looking for the next big…[Read more] -

I had not read his blog but, I did read it today. Very nice Nick!
And you are absolutely welcome to use the post any way you see fit.
I think Nick’s blog was spot on in many aspects. I agree that there are skeptical people out there that feel learning online is not possible.
That is clearly not an accurate assessment.
It does take…[Read more] -

As I’m going through my wooden dummy form, numerous times over and over again, I can’t help but think how similar the concept of the wooden dummy is with wingchun.online.
It’s always available whenever you want. It doesn’t get bored of doing the same thing repeatedly. It never needs a break. It never wants a turn to try the techniques on you.…[Read more] -

If I may inquire further into elbows; in chum kiu, would the first “passive” lan sau actually be a pie jarn because it is in transit?
I only ask to see if I should focus more on my elbow coming around vs presenting my elbow forward.
Clearly I’m focusing on elbows lol. -

Awesome! Thank you for the visual answer💯
It’s kinda funny how such a simple question transcends the basic understanding but still remains a basic principle.
Taking a pie jarn to chair pie could be broken down to poon sau. Seems like such an advanced technique yet, we’ve worked on it so much.
This is about the time I decide to go back to the…[Read more] -

Greetings! I’m hoping to get some clarity on something.
If I recall correctly, there’s actually two main differences between the Kup Jarn and Gwoi Jarn.
1) Back stance vs forward stance
2) Vertical vs 45°
If I am understanding the two main differences correctly, is there one that more defines which elbow is which?
For example; if I were to…[Read more]

Duanne Silver replied to the topic Different bongs in the forum Members Forum 3 years, 4 months ago
I was WAY off about what I thought this thread is about…
But anyway I’d like to offer my thoughts on this.
Already in turning stance and bong can come from a high garn sau to the inside with the bong covering their follow-up.
Turning into a bong is probably the most common use of our bong.
Stepping into the bong to simulate movement (as…[Read more]

I’d just like to point out that when we do our set of 50 chain punches that when we count the back hand 25 times, you need to also add 1 punch.
In other words, you will always end up with the same hand in mun sau that you started with in the mun sau position.
Your front hand will still be your front hand.
We don’t want to short ourselves by…[Read more] -

I’d re-emphasize the point that we are NOT training to do the lap in this exercise. In fact, just about everything from the perspective of the person performing the lap is incorrect.
I think you’re right on with, this being a “drill” and that we wouldn’t just sit there; there will be a follow up attack. The follow up attack being from the…[Read more] -

As I’m going through different techniques and their passive and aggressive applications, I had a thought on tan sau that I’d like to get clarification on or possibly validation.

If I’m understanding correctly, instead of the person in Tan Sau performing a Huen Sau to recover center; they are trying to match the force with force.
If that’s correct, I would say that instead of the Fook Sau forcing the change via Huen Sau, I’d allow the attempted matching force to force the change from Fook Sau to Tan Sau via the Huen…[Read more] -
