Does Sarm Bok Mar have street application?
It is without a doubt a Wing Chun essential and although I would dare say that it is nearly part of everything we do in wing chun, I honestly don’t know how to explain why with simplicity.
We see it in our chi sau. ✅
We see it in our mirror stepping. ✅
We see it in our drills.✅
We see it in street a…[Read more] -

I am understanding (I think) the forward energy / intent in the tan, fook and ding sau. If not blocked or held properly they would spring forward toward center as a punch or palm.
Is there a way to feel proper forward intention with the bong sau? I am assuming that it correct forward intention would be directed via the fan sau to opponent…[Read more]

Brilliantly helpful as well as brilliantly complex (as in a lot is going on at the same time).
Thank you.
I’ll keep pondering this and let it grow. I’m considering now how making changes “works/feels”.
So here’s what I am learning:
1) Chi Sau is a (complex, advanced) skill.
2) First, we have to understand the positions.
3) Then we need to k…[Read more] -

Ok… ok.
Redirection down through the stance! That I have come to imagine and feel. That language works very well and I understand. Thank you.
Now to the forward pressure.
I think I just got this (tonight)… Please tell me if I’m on the right track. While applying forward pressure / intention, I can test if I am applying to my opponents cente…[Read more]

First, may I offer my apologies for those joining in who thinks I am a raging madman for trying to explain energy… but I do hope it’s ok that I try?
So my reflection is on . . .
What does it mean that, “Any pressure, force or energy applied, should come from the base of the forearm.”
Sifu, when I am playing Chi Sau, I am often told that I can…[Read more]

Thanks Marquis. I am sure you and I have some shared common desires. I’ll encourage you to keep these hopes alive and well. Maybe we can visit together one day soon. Maybe we can make a way to visit each other sometime soon. Maybe, Sifu will be ready to come visit all of us sometime soon. 😀
Take care, I’ll see you online … soon! 😀

Wow Simeon. This is a wonderful update. Thanks for sharing. I have seen the same results. The library is geared toward solo training and I believe this is actually what provides the extensive benefits. When we look for partner training first, I fear our solo training becomes second priority. This means that our partner training now takes on a…[Read more]
