As to the garns that you mentioned. This seems to me like a good example of how the swords accentuate the position. I took a look and can see how that right garn is misaligned redirecting back to centerline?
Is this an accurate understanding?

Ha….ha! When I stepped in section 8, I knew it immediately. I was hoping you wouldn’t notice. 😬 However, I am so glad you do. Thanks for all these points. I will take them and keep working to refine!

Sifu,
I have been pondering something you said several weeks ago. You caught me throwing out my bongs with too much tension in the hand and fingers. What is the right amount of tension that should be there?
Should it…

Thank you. Between this forum, the encouragement and the insight, along with the blog post and todays class, I am totally saturated with such great teaching, ideas and perspectives… WOW!
Thank you Sifu.
Thank you Lee.
I hope I can recover. 😀
I am going to have to ponder all this for a while.
Cheers gents. A very Merry Christmas to you…

This is so great Lee. Thanks. I’ll ponder a bit and respond. I truly love hearing about your experience and training. It seems that you have really been able to fuel your passion and that’s fantastic!
Thanks for sharing!!

Brilliant. Thank you.
In all honesty, the question comes from an old paradigm that plagues me. Spending years in the gym shaped my attitude around reps and muscle groups. (Example: Monday is arms, chest. Tues: legs, lats…)
But this is very different..
I mean even if we do every form everyday, that’s only 30 minutes training time? This lea…[Read more]

Sifu,
Do you have any recommendations as to how to approach training in respect to our forms. Do you recommend we do each form (that we know) everyday and then pick one to drill and improve? And then prioritize the learning of new skills?
Or do you have other suggestions?
Simply put, how would you like us to train the “as well as”?
Thank you!
Always

Sifu,
In reference to your comments, am I correct in saying that there are six 45 degree garns that require the 50/50 stance:
• Two in section one
• Two in section two
• Two in section fourThe other sections use the Garn from
Cheun Mar?I’ve watched my form and yours repeatedly and see where it’s easy to get lazy with these. However I…[Read more]

You’re always so kind. Thank you Sifu. I will keep working! I have gained so much learning this past year. The library is filled with excellent foundations which you have then been able to expound upon regularly.
I am so grateful for your instruction, life perspective and encouragement. I still feel a great distance away from competence and c…[Read more]

Keep warm. Keep training. 😀

Thanks Lee. Your so kind. I really do appreciate your encouragement and passion!!! It means a lot!
We both know I didn’t post here so Sifu could tell me how good I am though. 😳 LOL
I do hope however that we can all learn from the critique I hope he’ll share.

Hey gents, I’m just presenting some ideas here. There is nothing more valuable to Wing Chun than investing in our sensitivity training through Chi Sau. Would you all consider traveling 2 hours to meet up? Perhaps we could do monthly or quarterly? There are four of us within a shared 2 hour driving radius.
I’m not ready to commit to anything, as…[Read more]
