I am GMT +5 here outside Philadelphia. It seems as if there is no GMT offset for Leeds in the autumn? Do you turn your clocks back in autumn?
I think I have been logging on a hour early. 😀
Problem solved? I think I will see you next Thursday.
Thank you so much for listening. Having lived in London (and across the globe for that matter) I feel…[Read more]

Thank you. I am going to keep problem solving on this end. I really have no idea what the issue is. I tried on multiple devices. I updated software. I deleted software. I reinstalled software 😀.
Zoom just would not acknowledge that class was in session. I’ll be in touch.
Is class still at 7:00pm in Leeds (GMT+1)?

Hello Sifu. Can you please advise. I have missed two weeks of zoom class due to the inability to join the class.
Each time I try I am simply told to “wait for host”. I am having a hard time believing that the issue is on my end (which it likely may be). I just don’t know what else to try and am wondering if you have seen any issues? Does the m…[Read more]

I’m sorry if my question seems confusing . . . it’s because I’m confused 😀.
So I’ll just try my best.
First, what are the six points we are aligning for our turning punch? Is is toes, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, fist?
Why do I ask?
When I am doing my turning punch, I am finding that my toes are naturally turning to 45°. This feels comfortable…[Read more]

Reflection and Thoughts
Thank you for this feedback Sifu. After some time reading / (re)reading, applying and reflecting, I have to say thank you.
I am learning the importance of practicing these forms perfectly. I immediately notice the difference in structure and how that structure directly reflects the use of energy. I am so keen to the fact…[Read more]

I am most certainly keeping up with the weekly (Thursday) classes. Although I do confess, there most definitely must be a discrepancy between my application and understanding. My viewing of the library is higher than my practice (unless of course you take into account the way I arrow step through the house while practicing tans, bongs, and biu’s…[Read more]

Can I ask for your advice regarding a plan? Should I use the assessments as guide and submit when ready or should I upgrade my membership and seek feedback on my learning on a more regular basis? How would that work?
What is a good way to get constructive feedback on what I am learning?
I do confess, I am facing some inhibitions on how to keep…[Read more]

Sifu,
I am beginning to prepare for the Siu Lim Tau Level Assessment. With us all being in quarantine, can I do so? I do not have a partner at this time to demonstrate proficiency in the “Partner Training Section”. I do not regard the assessment as important as I do the proficiency so I am just as happy to prepare and wait until I can meet your…[Read more]

Sifu, when using a biu what should finger rigidity / hand position be? If I am using a biu defensively then I imagine that the common rule of using energy applies. However, if using to strike, I imagine that poor position could present me with self injury? Should fingers be together? Separate? Locked straight? Slight bend?
Advise?
Thank you!

Hey Brian, it is so exciting to hear you’re deciding that now is the time to move deeper. I’m here in PA. Let’s chat further. Maybe we can find a way to move forward together!

Hi Wojciech, I just wanted to introduce myself hearing that you are beginning to practice Wing Chun here from NYC. I live in eastern PA. I’m still a couple hours from you but if your interested and when you feel “ready”, perhaps we can consider practicing our Chi Sau together. Keep in touch, it’s great to meet you!

Sifu,
Can you please explain the purpose of the high bong sau when doing the double kick (exercise). I do not understand this purpose / benefit.
Thank you!

Always very helpful thank you! And thank you for briefly posting the weekly workouts. Being five hours behind, sometimes other afternoon duties trump my time to be present!
It is so very appreciated!
