      Dear Sifu

Could you please look at 6.2 and 7 wooden dummy please. I find it much easier to understand the detailed version as you have done in the others

Hi I am Nabarun and I am from West Sussex. I have been in a Wing Chun for quite a few years(in a school) then intermittently because of the job and also that I thought I was not learning anything new. I was lucky to find this club whilst surfing the net in 2016. I was amazed at the information available on the site and how much I learnt in a short span of time. Since COVID Sifu has been kindly doing the virtual classes which has now been a game changer. I do not go to any class anymore and unfortunately living in rural Sussex there is not many I can find to train with. However as Sifu says ‘Why are we training Wing Chun?’ If it is to fight then that fight might never happen in you life .I have learnt as I have got older that practising a art like Wing Chun gives me health benefits ,i.e posture , flexibility as well as strength(I could do more push ups after practising my 1000 punches) as well learning a beautiful art from a maestro Sifu Colin Ward. We have become a Wing Chun community connecting with fantastic people from all parts of the world.

So welcome to tis class and I am sure you will love it!

I have had it before as well when practicing throws on a wooden floor. I had sustained a hand fracture. I don’t think I will go again although I have been with them for about 8-9 years. I have got your videos so will have to find buddy to train.

We had a hard sparring session using boxing principles my teacher said to use things like tan and pak but I found it hard. Also it is often a lot of hitting without any boxing skills for somebody like me. I have also acquired an injury in my ribs and back which has upset me. I think there is a high chance of injuries unless a specific technique is learnt. I am above 50 but would like to practice wingchun for a long time. So yes wingchun can be complimented by judo if learnt properly.
I would go with Sifu’s advice. Unfortunately I do not agree with my school and wish I found Kevin earier
