Sifu Ward, thank you for the advice. I think that this is an awesome idea. I understand that partner training is invaluable and that I what I am after. So I think that I am going to take your approach and see if I can gather some like minded people to train with. Thank you for the advice Sifu. Let’s hope for the best.

So as far as I know, I am the only Wing Chun practitioner in my county. I have not located any students or teachers around me. The closest options I have are Sacramento and San Fransisco, and those are hours away. So, on to my problem. I first seen this post this morning on Facebook. I’m happy to see it here as well. Furthermore, I am so glad this issue came up. When I was studying under my first Sifu, he recommended that we do not use the thumb because at that point we become over-committed to the move.
