I still do not know for sure when classes are. The website gives a time on Thursdays. There has been no message regarding a livestream class for August. Questions on this forum remain unanswered, and despite the fact that the bi-weekly video classes were discontinued, the website still tells people that they will get bi-weekly training sessions for $30 dollars per month. I cannot make an original post or write an email regarding the livestream classes, because the system will not perform those functions. This website needs work. I would just send this via email, but cannot, so I am posting it here. So,the website needs fixed.

I also am taken aback by some of the dialogue on this forum, i.e. a student and instructor bickering so that all can read it instead of in private.
There is inadequate direction when one joins the program (a “welcome” letter with basic procedural information,for instance).
I also am an avid weightlifter and am interested in sparring on my own, as self-defense training is important to me (in addition to health benefits).
Both of these activities, weightlifting and sparring, have been warned against. Man, I didn’t see THAT coming.

Therefore, I will not be able to participate in the live classes. I already paid my $100 for a year,and I suppose that is my fault. But since there are no refunds, I am just going to use the videos in this course as reference for me to integrate the material into my active Jeet Kune Do training.

This is simply to explain why I can’t attend training, and offer some constructive feedback. It is not meant to disrespect the HIGHLY DISTINGUISHED Sifu Ward. It is an honor for anybody to even train under your hand.These are merely technical matters (other than my lifting weights and expecting to spar). I am quite aware of your expertise and reputation. RESPECT to you, sir.

Sifu and classmates,

I was excited about yesterday’s livestream (April 18th). I was out of town at my daughter’s house but had my tripod and was ready to enter class, my quiet, undisturbed place was taken from me about 10 minutes before the hour. By the time I was setup elsewhere class had already started, and I did not want to interrupt by entering late. I emailed you at that time but my emails bounced indicating you had a full mailbox. I am communicating this here for that reason – emails to you bounce, and I do not yet see how to write this as a new, independent thread, so I am writing this here in hopes you will see it.

Anyway, this is very much NOT the norm for me. I want to launch here on the right foot. Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I am humbled to be here. I just started the first module. I made a somewhat unkind remark on the Sifu’s Facebook page which was immature and if you read this Sifu, I offer my most sincere apologies. I am a mature adult and not a fan of social media. However, I had a previous Sifu in Wing Chun Do who I found out faked his credentials. He was not certified by the parent organization and had limited experience and knowledge. He opened a school to make money. That sort of put a bad taste in my mouth, so I think that was expressed in my cynical attitude.

Having said all that, here is a simple procedural question. I joined with a basic membership (just for now). If I understand correctly, I can participate in one live class per month. I am not sure which Thursday that would be, so I logged in today to be sure. No class. Can somebody let me know when this class takes place?

Doggone it. I enrolled, but then left the program because I had found somebody to train with in person, but he wasn’t able to do it. Then I tried jkd, which I actually love, but I am 64. I can do it, but I can’t keep up at the same rate as the younger guys, so here I am again. I’ve done the one year plan so I am committed. This is why I didn’t see your reply. Incidentally, the reason I decided to re-enroll is because I did, in fact, speak to the Sifu in Lancaster, PA. I was inquiring about possible seminars because I have never trained with a real person, and I was so delighted to hear that his Sifu is Colin.

So I do plan to attend next year’s seminar in Lancaster. I live in Niles, Ohio, right outside of Youngstown. I am willing to drive a couple of hours if it means I get to train with somebody in person, which I have never done.If you were traveling east, I would be happy to meet you somewhere. Meanwhile, I am about to advertise for a Local training partner. Best wishes to you.
