Very good, but do remember to keep your left arm locked at the end of the thrusting strikes.
This is the sane with the horizontals and the verticals, keeping the opposite arm locked as this gives the pivot required for the arm which is in motion (I do hope that makes sense?).

Hi Lee,
Hope you’re well?
This is a great question, which may end up being a blog.
Here we go,
Luk sau jic keun (Luk sounds like ‘lut’ sau but without fully pronouncing the ‘t’)First of all it ‘does’ take practice to be able to do this
BUT
We need to take responsibility for our own actions.This is the same for your comment;

I also think that the low hand on the garn could be me pushing the opponent off centre. – 100%
Agreed. 🙂

Thanks Sifu.
I also think that the low hand on the garn could be me pushing the opponent off centre. Causing them to make a choice die bong or a punch as in Dan chi sau. (Taking my cue from Bui gee) I also think I could add a punch from the low hand of the garn to again cause a reaction. As in punch with the right step to the right to dominate…[Read more]

Hi Sifu, sorry to bother you,
I was just wondering if you already started watching the video assessment I sent > 2 months ago.
I noticed a new “countdown” started, and I did not receive anything.
Thank you,

Hi Sifu
Lesson 7.7, starting with the die bong, tan, bong, biu, jum, gum
I was practicing this lesson today with my daughter. I also like to try and get to it from poon sau. So I decided that the fook hand was going to punch and cause the die bong for one of us. Thinking about what you say about Dan Chi Sau and a good opportunity for a turning…[Read more]

Hi again Nick,
I looked at that photo ad when I saw Sifu, along with those words, it was so simple.
Let’s look at what we have…
“The body follows movement of the hands. The waist and the stance move together”
This is Chi Sau, ‘The waist and the stance move together’ refers to your turning stance, remember the 6 points of a turning punch, h…[Read more]
