That’s great.
Where are you based?
I’m just wondering if there may be other groups near to you for a future meet up, that could be interesting.

Hi Brian,
Good question, which is probably answered for you later on at:
Beginner Stage 1 Module 3 Lesson 7
Bong Lap Fak Sau Part 1
Although your concern has made me feel I should rearrange these classes a little so it is explained sooner.Bong Sau can be used as a BLOCK, and by this I mean with force, strong and in a way that suggests a STOP of…[Read more]

Thanks Rick,
I’m glad the structure is working for you.
Super important to get partners, and as many as possible, the more fresh arms the better.
Did you get the email I sent you regarding this point?

Hi Christian,
Good question and thank you for the kind words, I’ll do my best. π
I suppose really we are looking at your ability to remember. Personally I would just keep watching and training alongside a video until you feel you’ve got it, certainly if it involves your partner work.
The idea of my teaching is to ‘add on’ from session to…[Read more] -

Hi Rick,
Great question.
Sometimes a blog is a course video which I wish to share publicly (blog), and sometimes a blog is something that I made for that purpose but then decide should be filed away in the course videos, in the appropriate place in order to compliment that technique, either by way of a better explanation of it, an adaptation of…[Read more]

Hi Kyle,
Sounds like you had a great time!
As I said, Mark seems to be a good guy, and it’s a fair point regarding lineage but the bottom line is, if it works for you then keep it.
For me though, Ip Man worked, and to be taught as a personal student by his eldest son was an honour.Nice having the three views on the system too.
The Bong, Lap,…[Read more]

Hi Corey,
Sorry for the delay, I’ve been snowed under today. Not literally. π
We are making slight changes to the site at the moment as you may have noticed (the positioning of the Forum button, different highlights on the first module etc) but I will look into this, thank you for letting me know. As long as it does not prevent you from…[Read more]

Hi Kyle,
That’s great news about your crew growing!
I hope to see you there myself one day, that’s the plan anyway, but meow about that another time.
Please give my regards to Mark, he’s a good guy. I like him.
And yes, please do give me all the details. π
Did you see the ‘Teacup’ blog, worth a watch before you go.
Speak again soon,

Hi Kyle and thank you for a great question.
I think that what you are doing is perfect.
Of course depending on the height and reach of your training buddy you may need to alter your positions slightly, but what you are getting from the solo drilling is not so much the perfect position but more remembering the sequence of moves, something less…[Read more] -

Hi Stephanie,
Yes of course! π
There will be several very senior instructors there and great for you to meet.
Oh, and I’ll also see if we can have a dummy prepared for you by then too. Don’t worry, you’re not committed, I’ll simply give you first refusal and also inform you of the cost first too. Even then you can go away and think about…[Read more]

That sounds like a nice group.
Will you be arranging meeting times and what to cover for the next session etc. then?
It’s always better to just asked them to solo study no more than 3 techniques (chosen beforehand of course) and then four on these when you next meet, that way you’re all on the same page. If that doesn’t seem much you’ve always…[Read more]
