I like your thinking
Errors are good, and essential, if we learn from them, the disease is when people believe that they have no mistakes, when that happens, you’re done.

Hey Lee!
How great to hear from you!
Regarding the HK comments, this is usually either done because;
A – there is something being offered and therefore taken (if someone is pulling you in, so you push them – or – if someone is pushing you in so you pull them)
OR
B – they’re just being a twat π
Either way, you can go with it (yield or…[Read more]

In all of these, still ‘try’ to think of contact being with the blade (except for the Huen of course).
Although we THINK of the blade, in some cases there ay be more surface contact, in the same way as we PUNCH with the bottom three knuckles but in truth, make contact with the full bottom half of the base three fingers.
I do hope that makes sense?

Hi Richard, great to hear from you!
Please forgive the delay but I seem to have been rushed off my feet lately π
The main thing to remember here is:

So the fact that this feels too wide for you is a great thing.Yes you are correct regarding the less of an angle idea, I’m guessing that in the video I…[Read more]

If there is something you wish me to take a look at, record it and upload to a site of your choice, then send me the link, you could simply delete it after I’ve given feedback.
Or if it is a small file, you could email it to me?

I’ve approved your group request now, but still, it’s ok to post on here, I tend to use the FB group for posting videos etc (much easier than on here for that stuff).

A solid (and honest) question.
The simple fact is that this is what the videos are there for, for you to check yourself, and this is best done by videoing yourself on your phone and comparing, BUT, that’s only the start, I will see any flaws if you ever get to join us on the live classes, AND, I’v eno problem with you sharing your forms to let me…[Read more]

Welcome to the family my friend!
Best tip I can give is to take it steady, one step and one video at a time, but do remember we’re here for you brother.
Is this your first venture into Wing Chun?

It is true that power and bone alignment can be strong when connecting the index and middle knuckles, with the forearm bones BUT this does rely on hitting through AKA overcommitting, in addition to this, you need to raise your elbow to the side in order to drive this through, therefore telegraphing your intent through this chambering action AND…[Read more]
