Not to worry Patrick, there will be others.
Plus I believe your Sifu will be organising another seminar for me soon so I will get to see you then.
The next seminar I would like to discuss Siu Lim Tau and its applications I think, it would be interesting to have you FEEL energy.
He will keep you updated.
Kindest regards,
Sifu Ward

Thanks Adam,
I’m, taking next week off of teaching classes so I can spend time checking the running order of lessons and to see what got lost when we changed.
Thank you for the input, that will help me a lot.

Hi Adam,
A nice thought.
In short, no.
BUT, if it works for you, use it. To me, being realistic, your Wing Chun should be there to defend you, and therefore you MAY use it to block, parry or avoid, what follow up you then use is up to you, BUT, should you go off line and by taking the longer journey (a hook), and it is intercepted, then you…[Read more]

Hi Gabriel,
Wow, thank you for such kind words, and you are most welcome.
Do note that regarding your plateau, this will happen many times, it simply has to. It is impossible to learn something brand new every day, with no time given to absorb what has gone before it. We learn, learn, learn, and then we take the time to allow ourselves to…[Read more]

Hi Ray,
Simple answer to start with is ‘Never do anything you cannot recover from’, by this I mean match if you like but know your limits, otherwise YOU will be lapped.
This little blog clip may be of interest to you (especially from the 3.00min mark)
I hope this helps.
Oh and if you lap and cannot move them maybe it is your lap that’s the…[Read more]

Hi Chuck,
Only that the knives are to be thought of as an extension of your arms.
The main differences being that when you are USING a Tan (for instance) the elbow is tucked into the body (making the structure stronger) the wrist now becoming the replacement for the elbow.
The energy used in these moves is by connecting the life to the forearm…[Read more] -

In short, if it helps, use it.
But there is no substitute for a real partner.
It’s the unpredictability you need to be dealing with, so keep looking and best of luck.
And do keep training, because when you do find a partner you’ll need to know that what YOU’RE doing is 100%.
