We roll up and down and exchange side to side, but in order to experience a third dimension to the game we must feel the forward and backward pressure of both ours and our partners pressures.
I feel a blog coming on!

Hi Frank,
We could but I’m not sure when at the moment as I’m away at a wedding today and tomorrow, then teaching class and seminars Mon – Thurs so not guaranteed of Wifi and timing.
At the moment I am grabbing login’s when possible through the day to upload and reply etc.
After a week, happy to, but until then, if you’d like to send me a video…[Read more]

Ok, I will do it if you request again.
The reason I did not was because you said YOU were a member, and your wife ‘Priscilla’ would be joining later, therefore I assumed YOU were already in the group and so I was waiting for Priscilla’s membership to show up.

Ok, here’s a few points that may help.
Firstly, if you’re in Biu Mar, kick him! He shouldn’t be able to get close enough to be able to use a tight upper cut.
Next, a preferred stance is SBM, that way you are in-between Biu Mar and YGKYM, this also makes any turns still possible with the outcome of a turn being either the shape of a Biu mar or…[Read more]

You have described that perfectly.
It IS, one fist away, BUT, to think of only that is dangerous as it draws attention to the hand. Leading with the elbow, we will stop when we feel as the the elbow is about the drag the hand off of centre line (this happens to be around one fist away).
Well done you!

Thanks Steve, that’s great.
I’m planning on making a video for the site by way of mock assessments, so you know what is needed and to what standard.
Hopefully this should answer all questions in this area.
Thank you

Hi John,
We’ve had this question before and I was sure I’d sorted it (although I’ll look again), but if it’s not found soon then it may be a case of there was no Part 2.
Either way I will give this some attention.
Thanks John!

Hi Frank,
As it’s 3.38am here and I’ve just returned, I will return to this message in the morning due to it’s serious nature, but you do make a good point.
In short and right now (before I sleep) I will say that I usually steer away from knife defence due to not wanting to mislead, and, this IS such a dangerous area, especially when I am not…[Read more]

Sifu Colin Ward replied to the topic Wrong Knives??? in the forum Members Forum 8 years, 3 months ago
Ah, Mm, yes.
These are not the easiest. They can be used but when changing to the Yat Dao there is definitely going to be a thumb scraping issue, as those knives are too wide and flat to get a comfortable rotation. The rounder thumb guard is the better option.
STILL USEABLE THOUGH!
So do not be too upset, and it will also make for a cool…[Read more]
