David that’s great news!
Don’t be put off by differences, that’s no different to people.
I did a blog recently saying that the thing to always remember when playing the dummy is that, “It’s a tree” therefore allowances must be made.
Well done still.

Just had a look for the old post and discovered it was you! My bad.
Please forgive me for this, I will need to go through everything again after the latest back end restructure.
I’ll track it down.
Thank you

Hey Taz,
I’ve approved you and hope to see you in person one day soon, I’m actually holding a residential training weekend next week in Pickering, perhaps you may wish to join us?
I’ll post the details on the site soon, just wasn’t sure there’d be any spaces left.
Something to think about?

Learn the pattern first, this will still take time before buying a dummy.
This is called Mo Jong (no dummy) and is completely normal to learn this way, even if you learned ON the dummy, you’d still want to train OFF of one too.

Thank you.

Hi Joni,
In general the hand should be about level with the throat as it is a body block, BUT the beauty of Wing Chun means that this is a level for training but Tan can move up, down, forward, backward, standing square, with a turn, with a step! However you want to use it.
However, before we start to change something we need to know what it is…[Read more]

Hi again Thomas,
Well, where do I start?
First of all I feel for you regarding your situation and I hope we can help ease certain areas of your stress for you.
Let’s look at stress for a moment, there are many ways to attempt to deal with stress and anxiety, the usual ones being through medication, but there is also the need for a good diet,…[Read more]

Hi Mathew,
Nice to hear from you.
Yes that is still the plan although it would probably not be ‘full’ classes, as much of this would be the students practicing among themselves, so it will be snippets of their training combined with what I am teaching (of course) at that particular class.
Obviously I’m happy to share how the students are…[Read more] -

Hi Thomas,
The obvious and immediate answer to this is Siu Lim Tau, I would like to go more into this but right now I have to leave to teach a class.
Please remind me to discuss this with you further. And thank you for sharing,

Ha!
Hi Lee,
I love the idea of the cat being an issue.
As for measurements etc. they are spot on, but do try to think of them as more a travel luxury.
As a permanent structure, if I’m honest, you may prefer something you can give some power to on occasion, as a take anywhere training tool, it’s great.

Hi Chester and welcome to the family!
I will be adding some videos to assist in the solo issue of partner training (it that makes any sense), but for now do have a look at this previous post, hopefully it will be of interest to you.
