Sifu Colin Ward replied to the topic Grading Assessment Partner in the forum Members Forum 6 years, 12 months ago
Hi Adam,
Yes unfortunately, when it comes to being assessed on partner training, you WILL need a partner.
This is why we push the ‘Creating a school’ idea.
I’ll write a little blog on this for Saturday to remind you how best to go about this (I hope it helps).

Hi Luca,
Yes of course, if you go to MY ACCOUNT and then click on GRADING ASSESSMENTS you’ll find all the information you need.
You can also print out certificates of completion at the end of each module.
Happy training!

A good question, but let me start by reminding you of something;
‘If it’s not comfortable, it’s not right’
Now of course we do need to train ourselves, however, slow and steady is the way.
You may find 60/40 much easier, keep a bend on BOTH knees, and do not bend the knees SO much.
You cannot try to go straight into a deep stance, please let…[Read more]

Hi Adrian,
Thank you for your message and of course I think this is a good idea, unfortunately this will take time (but it will happen).
For now I am hoping that you can be able explain to your partner through your actions, what it is that I am trying to pass across.
The initial idea is to start by subtitling the main points of most important…[Read more]

Hi James,
Well, I finally got to watch them…
Very good!
A joy to watch, well done you.
I really like your training partner, he seems like such a nice guy and really helpful!
Ok, now for the tips (there’s not many)

Don’t go for the sound of the slap.

Hi Lee,
First of all, I think I know what you mean, is it just us or did all those ‘Fast and furious’ movies have the same plot?
Just kidding of course (I’ve not seen any of them).I’m not 100% what you mean though?
If you mean literally that you ended up in the same place within your mirror’, then great.

Hi Ben,
Our assumption is that online viewing is monitored and we do not encourage young children training, teens are fine though.
Great to hear you’re doing well.

Hi Ben,
Nice to hear from you and I hope all is well?
Great that you’ve someone to train with.
Regarding age, in many ways, if you are tall enough to play chi sau, bring it on, in classes however there is the aspect that if an adult is paying top price to learn how to fight, it is to be expected that they will get annoyed if they have to play…[Read more]

Great news.
Let me give you 2 more tips.
1/
When your knuckles get red, stop or they bleed2/
Wrap a tea-towel over your bag, that way you can wash it when it is dirty (just in case your training partners use it)Sifu
