Hi Kristjan,
Great to hear you’re back to regular training!
These moves need to be thought as individuals or at least have the option to be so.
The first move is a Biu, simply getting a contact, the palm strike is a second move, this MAY be blocked, therefore making use of the pulling action.
This pulling action could also be coming from a…[Read more] -

The ‘Library’ is simply the term we use for the collection of videos/classes.

Hi Tyler,
Yes you are correct, there are certificates for completion of each of the modules, to be honest though, I cannot remember myself where they are! HA!
You say you got it after completing the quiz but not when you missed a couple of the second, have you retaken the quiz to see if you are presented with it then?

Hi David,
Yes, always try to keep a slight bend on the knees (locking would be unnecessary, lazy and potentially dangerous) but there is no need to try to pull them inward such as in Siu Lim Tau.
SLT is a static training form whereas the others are more realistic and combative, so use the stance more as you would in the street.
Hope this helps?

Hi Jamie,
I’ve just watched the video and it does seem to be the only one, however it is quite detailed and so perhaps I’ve felt there’s no need for more.
After your bringing this to my attention though, I do feel I would like to elaborate on this a little more, so I will make further videos…Thank you

Hi Chris,
Well I must say you’ve got me there, no one has ever asked that before.
I will say NO for now but it does make me think we need some sort of a ‘favourite’ button or someway of marking an additional star etc.
We will look into this for the future,
Thank you

Sifu Colin Ward replied to the topic Bong and Lap in the forum Members Forum 6 years, 8 months ago
Hi Lee,
GREAT question, and you are correct in your assumptions.
In chi sau we Lap underneath, why, because otherwise there is nothing to grab hold of (a floppy high fook sau)
In reality the punch has projected much further, so is sticking out, so we lap over the bong.
And yes we need a bong, trying to Lap a punch IS possible BUT is better…[Read more]

Hi Fredrick,
You SHOULD be able to just type those into the search engine and it will find them, or in failing that, print out the assessment requirements and when you come across them, pay extra attention.
The reason we do not just have these separate is that I am more interested in you actually knowing what you are doing and able to improvise…[Read more]

Hi Jim and welcome!
Sounds like an occasional meet-uo for you and DJ could be in the future?
I do hope so.
I live 150 miles from my school, requiring a 3hr drive each way, so you guys may have landed on your feet.Of course there will be differences but lessening how to intemperate them into something we can use, well that is the skill we are…[Read more]

Hi Lee,
I see what you mean. (I think 🙂 )
Yes, a lot of the time the idea is that we use hands back and knives forward, but then again, in wing chun nothing is carved in stone.
It seems you have already worked out the simple application for the Lap and Kup, but even then, although this can be used going backwards, is probably best used going…[Read more]

Hi Lee,
I just had a quick look through the videos I sent and they all seem to be sec 8 applications.
I don’t understand, is it just chi sau applications you’re looking for?As for SBM, as we see this in the form is not necessarily how it is used in reality, for instance, a general guide would be that when we use techniques from the knife form,…[Read more]

James,
I am very sorry that you feel this way, and I do appreciate that this does seem odd and the introductions (of which I do not write) most definitely needs rewriting, but the whole purpose of my creating this site was to share Ip Chun wing chun with everyone, with no secrets, and the chance for everyone to learn everything.
I would not want…[Read more]
