Hi Lee,
Hope you’re well?
This is a great question, which may end up being a blog.
Here we go,
Luk sau jic keun (Luk sounds like ‘lut’ sau but without fully pronouncing the ‘t’)First of all it ‘does’ take practice to be able to do this
BUT
We need to take responsibility for our own actions.This is the same for your comment;

Hi again Nick,
I looked at that photo ad when I saw Sifu, along with those words, it was so simple.
Let’s look at what we have…
โThe body follows movement of the hands. The waist and the stance move together”
This is Chi Sau, ‘The waist and the stance move together’ refers to your turning stance, remember the 6 points of a turning punch, h…[Read more]

Hi Nick,
Mmmmm,,,
โThe body follows movement of the hands. The waist and the stance move together.
I am sorry, but I do not understandโฆ or so I think?
I’m not sure I do either to be honest, where did I say this? On the video?
If you are referring to the ‘Chi Sau tennis’ then the idea here was simply to keep the elbow in-between his nose and…[Read more]

Hi Lee,
Glad you got into the catchup, and as I said, I reckon it was just a prerecord that had the settings off.
As for the elbows, first of all, did you understand that discussion ok?
It’s the one where I mention there are 4 elbows but really there’s only 2 yes???Anyhoo…

Hi Sim and welcome to the family!
Sorry for the delay but I’ve just spent the last four days in the back and beyond, completely off grid, in a romany caravan owned by gypsies.
My wife, myself and my three kids like to get back to nature when possible (we find it’s the best way to clear our heads), anyhow, horses don’t move that fast so the…[Read more]

Hi Lee,
Real shame we won’t see you live.
As for the catchup, that issue only happens when it is a prerecord through Vimeo, so if I need to do that again I will double check that the settings are correct and that it’s not on a restricted access etc.
I will be at tonight’s class, therefore the normal catchup availability will be waiting for you,…[Read more]

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum family,
Firstly, I do like your way of getting to grips with the training, a good idea.
As for your question…
Let me start by saying that it is not the ‘feet’ that turn 45, but the hips.
You will probably find that the back foot does not turn as much as the front foot, or perhaps I should say, as much as the…[Read more] -

I do tend to wait until the videos are all in and, then watch them together, this way I can see general consistencies of where things are good or may need work.
It won’t be long, good luck and thank you.
