Maybe look out for when we hold our training weekends.
We have a place on the east coast we use.

The turning of the stance, rotation of the shoulder and the tucking in of the elbow, will all close down much faster than you may think, although…
This defence does leave you vulnerable to a palm strike from the other hand, so watch for it.
Oh and if you’re trying this yourself and the palm doesn’t seem to fit, lift your elbow out and you will…[Read more] -

A good point and a key point!
First of all this is practice, coupled with the solid understanding of trying to get the elbow into centre…
Don’t know where centre is? More 1st Form!
This is why Siu Lim Tau is so important, understanding WHERE centreline is, so we know WHAT we are recovering ‘to’.As for timing, yes, your partner does have the…[Read more]

Very kind of you Nick, and yes I agree, a very good question.
You are so right, there are many people who I am sure read these questions with relief that it has been asked by another, perhaps because they were not sure of asking it themselves?
I do not know, but what I do know is that for anyone reading this, we are here for you, so please do…[Read more] -

Hi Amy,
As this is quite a long question, I decided to address it as I went along, so, for the first part:-
When we refer to ranges, it is important that if you are the smaller person, make sure that either YOU are in range, OR that nobody is.
This could be done by stepping in at the same time as your attacker does, OR by turning when you…[Read more] -

Hi Colin,
In the Form there is only one kick as it is used to bring us back to a square stance, however, in training, you should step to your left side and practice this with the right kick too.

I may have answered this in your other post question?
In general, keep contact with the wrists, you might adjust from time to time and play around but never hold on with your palms, this would be dangerous and lazy. 🙂

Fook Sau to Ding Sau, whichever position, the rules are the same, do not hold with the palm of your hand.
Sometimes you ‘may’ see me do this, but please do as I say, not as I do, if ‘I’ do this, there is going to be a reason for it, most likely trying to get a reaction from my partner, OR, trying to readjust (AKA correcting), their arms.

If you ever fancy popping over to Leeds sometime, do let me know.
I live in Northampton so I have a 2.5hr, 150 mile journey to do every week, so I know the distancing well. 🙂

VERY GOOD!
Today was the first time I’ve seen this, WELL DONE YOU!
That was really nice and with little critic, but, that is what I am here for I suppose… 🙂
The only things I would say, as there are so few…
Sec 1 and 2:
When on the camera side, right Tan, left low palm, retreat your palm arm (left), before moving into the Garner’s…[Read more] -
