Life Is Too Short
Just a short blog today.
Just like life.
People say life is too short, and yes, I suppose it is, but then again, surely that depends on the quality of life you have, doesn’t it?
If you’re having a sun soaked beech holiday in the Maldives then yes, you will definitely say life is too short, well certainly that holiday was anyway.
But if your days are to be spent in agonising pain, with no way out of that situation, then the person in question may say the shorter the better.
I mean no offence to anyone by that comment, and if I have offended anyone then do please forgive me.
What I am saying is live for today yes, yes of course, stop putting things off and do the best you can, not just for yourself but for those around you too.
Muhammad Ali, when questioned on his being the greatest boxer of all time said,
“It doesn’t matter what I did, if I was a garbage man, I would be the greatest garbage man of all time”
We don’t know what tomorrow will bring and we must learn from yesterday, but one thing we know is for sure, now, is now.
So just like Chi Sau, stay in the moment, and enjoy it.
Smile, laugh, have a bit of fun.
“The truth is, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.
Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed.”
Who was that great philosopher?
“Don’t waste time wondering if tomorrow will come, I did yesterday”
and be nice to a stranger,
Oh, and most of all, be nice to yourself.
